Computer Requirements for Coding Bootcamp

You must have a computer, and a second monitor (with cables to connect your monitor(s) to your computer). If you share space or have background noise, you must also have a microphone headset.

IMPORTANT:

  • Newer Macs are OK
  • Chromebooks are NOT sufficient for this course
  • Company computers/laptops seem to have restrictions on them so that you can’t install new software. Company computers are NOT sufficient for this course.

Recommended Affordable Basics

A computer, a second monitor, and an HDMI cable to connect the two, are the minimum of what you will need to get started as a professional programmer.

Upping Your Game

To make your life even easier, we also highly recommend a computer headset with mic, stand alone USB or bluetooth mouse and keyboard, and a mouse pad. A notepad and pen are essential for taking notes. Finally, we know this can be stressful… a stress ball could help.  🙂
