We Can Code IT Proudly Joins the Ranks of Women-owned Businesses with WBENC Certification
We Can Code IT is thrilled to share that we have officially been certified as a Women’s Business Enterprise (WBE) through the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC). This esteemed recognition is a great honor for us and we are proud to join the ranks of other successful women-owned businesses.
As Mel McGee, founder and CEO of We Can Code IT, explains: “It took me eight years to finally take the time and effort to become WBENC and WOSB Certified. I put it off thinking that it wouldn’t do any good, it was a waste of time. While filling out information regarding We Can Code IT’s partnership with Amazon Career Choice as a school, I noticed they were interested in diverse suppliers. That was my impetus to apply.”
After meeting with WBENC member, Pam Stanczewski, during her WBENC interview, Mel quickly learned that there were many additional benefits to WBENC Certification. “Not only does WBENC help women business owners gain access to diversity-friendly companies, they hold networking events, and provide support within the organization,” Mel says.
The WBENC Certification process is a rigorous one, and we are thrilled that our business has been confirmed as at least 51% owned, operated, and controlled by a woman or women, with the appropriate structure and strategic business planning and implementation in place. This certification demonstrates our commitment to empowering women as leaders and promoting diversity in the business world.
By including women-owned businesses in their supplier diversity programs, corporations and government agencies are able to foster diversity and promote sustainable economic growth. We are thrilled to be part of this movement and look forward to partnering with more organizations who share our values.
At We Can Code IT, we are passionate about helping individuals develop the skills they need to thrive in the tech industry.
